The Town of Windsor officially confirmed a new Arts Commission with expectations to name seven members who will oversee Windsor’s Community Art Program including the selection of artists, artwork, and art installation and placement.
“Members of the community have expressed great interest in the few pieces of art that the Town currently displays, and feedback collected throughout the master planning process confirmed that a majority of Windsor residents are interested in seeing more art in their community,” said Laura Browarny recreation supervisor of Windsor’s Culture Division. “This Board will address the community’s wishes and give us an opportunity to contribute to Windsor’s history and legacy through art.”
The Board will be guided by the bylaws and the 2019 Public Art Master Plan developed by students and staff from Colorado University Denver’s Colorado Center for Community Development and the Department of Local Affairs.
The town expects to name the seven members by the end of August 2021. Windsor residents interested in the role should apply by 5 p.m. Wednesday, August 4, 2021. Interviews will be scheduled shortly thereafter and tentatively scheduled for the week of August 16 with appointments to the Arts Commission determined by Monday, August 23. Interested applicants with a background in art can visit the Town of Windsor Boards & Commissions webpage to complete an application.
